Leandro d’Vintmus is a multi-talented musician who originates from Sao Paulo in Brazil. He is a Multi-percussionist who has also performed live electronic music. In 2003 he developed a love for Indian classical music and has studied Tabla. In 2014, Leandro found inspiration to compose his own songs after writing short tracks to be used in a video he had produced. He then used this inspiration to record his first EP ‘Newborn’ which he describes as follows: "A newborn baby is pure and has no past. It is like a white canvas that will be painted. The paint represents the experiences that the newborn baby will have and that will consequently shape his personality." The ‘Newborn’ EP demonstrates a fresh beginning. Love is an important aspect of the songs and this comes across very well. The eclectic musical genres, with Brazilian, Indian and Spanish influences work well and the tunes are catchy, yet relaxing. The title track is my personal favourite, with it’s Spanish/Jazz vibe. I enjoyed this track on first hearing and was blown away by its originality. ‘New Horizon’ again demonstrates a fresh start. It is a nice, positive song lyrically and musically and contains the lovely vocals of Jenny Wilde. ‘Life’s Still a Riddle’ is more of a melodic jazz song which has a relaxing 70’s feel to it. ‘Berimba’ has a very Brazilian influence to it. A poem is recited over the top of the music about loving life and living for love, which I find appealing. I would recommend listening to Leandro to appreciate pure, spiritual, original music and to relax and free your mind from your troubles. Karen Hill
