Frank “Thad” Hearst, aka Styles is a Music Executive. Born in 1979 in Atlanta, Georgia, music has always been a part of Thad’s life. He currently recruits fresh new talent to the Jerkins Music Group. Here is his fascinating interview with Editor Karen Hill: What was it that inspired you to release your first mixtape, “Styles”? My inspiration of me releasing my first mix tape was basically to find myself a place in this business !!! I thought being an artist would give me the financial future and fame that I desired. I love music all kinds & genres. Can you tell me a bit more about how your career evolved? My career evolved from my mother who was in the business while I was a child and who background sang for some of today's Legends. I was a road baby pretty much growing up moving from Atlanta to South Florida at an early age. Music has always been in me and a part of my life so I have to find my way in it or a part of it Who would you say are your own musical inspirations? My musical inspirations is quite simple, it's actually more on the spiritual end of the spectrum. My great uncle Elijah Bush Sr "Birmingham AL" & "Warren Blakney Sr" Tulsa OK !!! both of them are amazing Preachers and singers !!! Their singing captivates everyone's soul & u can feel the passion they have for God & Others lives !! Which have been the most interesting out of the celebrities you have met through your work? The most interesting celebrities I've met thru this Business are "DJ Khaled" "Usher" really it's too many to name lol. I've been blessed to me a lot Is there a particular celebrity you admire that you hope to collaborate with in the future? I would love to work with Beyonce, Adele, & Bruno Mars !!! Huge fan them & I can't forget my Fav "Anthony Hamilton". Has there been a specific highlight so far in your career with the Jenkins Music Group? Since working with the Jerkins music group I have been able to get 2 songwriters signed and one producer signed to the label & they have been officially Grammy Nominated songwriters as of late & both songwriters and producer are in place to write and create for some of today's major stars Do you find any time for other hobbies or interests? When I'm not creating music or working with some of today's stars I find myself wanting to go fishing, watching movies on Netflix, and spending quality time with my children !! Do you have any exciting projects lined up for 2016/17? I definitely have some major projects coming up late 2016 and at the top of the year in 2017, As most people know I have a relative in the industry as well who goes by the name of "Sammie" Recording artist who lives in Atlanta and has had several top chart it hits. I definitely want to work with him and his new project that he has going on later this year and also I'm looking forward to recording with two other majors Singers that's in the works. What do you feel is your biggest strength? (either personally or professionally) My biggest strength is the willingness not to ever give up I've been told no all my life so it comes natural when I hear no but it brings me joy and peace when I hear yes and that I've put in my work for something not given but earned !!! Do you feel musicians have it tougher or easier in these days of technological advancement? I definitely think musicians have it way easier then the musicians that came before them because of the technical advancements within the studio. The technology today to make you sound like anyone you want to as before you had to be a genuine singer. Really makes it so much easier to create the sound that you actually looking for, so is less work in the studio Do you have any advice for anyone thinking of going into the music industry? My advice to up and coming artist Who are trying to make it in this business first you have to be authentic secondly you have to be patient and lastly you have to master at your craft !!! Know the business inside & out from an artist to the business side as well !!! Definitely helps in the long run. Have you a great support team around you and a great manager who will support you. Thanks very much and all the best, Karen! (Follow Frank on Twitter/IG @LifeofThad)
